ACHIELLE is a third generation family business based in Egem Belgium, first started in 1946 when Achiel Oosterlinck opened a small bicycle shop in Zwevezele. Over the years the shop expanded and Achiel started making his own bicycles. In 1963 he founded the company Achiel Diya, where joined by his son Jan, he began production of bicycle frames for many European brands. The company expanded and founded Eastern Color, a company specializing in painting bicycle frames. In 1976 Diya moved to their new factory in Egem, combining these two companies as Dija-Oostcolor.
With the downturn of bicycle frame production in Europe, Jan along with the family's next generation, sons Peter and Tom, launched the ACHIELLE brand of vintage-style, nostalgic bicycles. ACHIELLE bicycles are hand made with the expertise of years of traditional craftsmanship using European CORUS Hi Tech Steel lugged frames and traditional crowned forks. ACHIELLE source the best European components available from Brooks England, Shimano , Sturmey Archer, Schwalbe, Rigida (Van Schothorst) and Bush & Muller, to make their bicycles truly European in every sense.
ACHIELLE classic bicycles are fully made and assembled in Belgium with the Oosterlinck family's heart and soul in each bicycle.
